The Communication Trust 'round table event'

Category:
Research and role development

In November 2014, The Communication Trust hosted a round table event with key stakeholders, including an IfJ Registered Intermediary, from across the youth justice and speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) sectors. The event facilitated a discussion about the current policy and practice landscape and made recommendations for practical action to improve outcomes for children and young people with SLCN in the youth justice system.

'Doing justice to speech language and communication needs' brings together the key messages and recommendations from this event and aims to provide a platform from which practitioners, services and policy makers can think about the different approaches, challenges and opportunities to improve outcomes for children and young people with SLCN in the youth justice system. The report and event were funded by the Helen Hamlyn Trust. The report, which mentions Registered Intermediaries and IfJ at various points, is available as a free download on The Communication Trust website here.
